those experiences inspired us to create CarmicWorks: a brand that transforms cultural stories into meaningful clothing. we believe what we wear can be more than a matter of style; it can express values, preserve memories, and start conversations. each design is inspired by the distinctive character of local cultures and created for those who appreciate the richness of human diversity.
our experiences also made us reflect on the importance of preserving cultural identity in a world where increasing globalization can sometimes lead to cultural homogenization. while connecting the world has brought remarkable opportunities, we believe it should never come at the cost of losing the traditions, stories, and identities that make every place unique. that belief became our purpose—our own interpretation of karma: what we choose to protect today helps shape what future generations inherit.
we are from setúbal, a portuguese city shaped by its fishing legacy and surrounded by rio sado, serra da arrábida, and península de tróia. growing up in a place where local traditions remain closely connected to nature inspired us to value the relationship between people, culture, and the environments that sustain them. it is here that the idea for CarmicWorks began, and where we started building it in 2024.
